MO Letter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data MO Letter collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. The app is operated by Aylan Apps (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the app you accept this policy.

If anything here is unclear, email contact@aylantech.com.

1. What MO Letter is

MO Letter is an AI career-document app. You paste a job offer and give us your background — typed into the CV builder, imported from a PDF, or photographed from a paper résumé — and our backend asks an AI model to write a tailored cover letter, suggest CV wording, and build an interview-preparation pack. You can then edit the result, choose a template, add a signature, and export it as a PDF. A career-coach chat (“Léo”) answers questions about your applications.

Everything the AI produces is a draft for you to review and edit. It is not career, legal, or employment advice, and we do not guarantee any hiring outcome.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account data

  • Email address and username.
  • A hashed password, or a sign-in identifier from Apple or Google when you use those buttons.
  • Your subscription state (free or Pro) and how many free AI generations you have used.

You can use parts of the app without an account. In that case there is no server-side profile — your work stays on the device — and a limited number of AI generations is allowed per device.

2.2 Career content you give us

  • Your CVs: name, contact details, work experience, education, skills, and anything else you type into the CV builder.
  • Source CVs you import — a PDF you pick, or a photo you take of a paper résumé — which we read to extract the text.
  • Job offers you paste or link, and the company and role they name.
  • The cover letters, CVs, follow-up emails, and interview-prep packs generated for you, plus your edits and drafts.
  • Your application tracker: the status of each opportunity and the date you marked it as applied.
  • Your signature, if you draw or type one for a letter.
  • Messages you send to the career coach.

This is sensitive material by nature — a CV contains your identity and employment history. Please do not include anything you do not want processed by an AI service: national identity numbers, health information, bank details, or other people's personal data.

2.3 Purchases

  • Subscription and purchase state from the App Store or Google Play, received through RevenueCat. We never see your card details.

2.4 Device and abuse-prevention signals

  • A hashed device fingerprint (brand / model / OS), hashed on the device before upload.
  • Platform-stable identifiers used only for fraud prevention — Android's App Set ID and an Apple DeviceCheck attestation token — so that reinstalling cannot reset the free generation allowance.
  • The IP address of your requests, as any web server records.
  • Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) so we can fix what breaks.

3. How the AI processing works (AI disclosure)

MO Letter has no AI model of its own. When you ask for a letter, a CV rewrite, or a preparation pack, our server sends the relevant text — the job offer and the background you provided — to Google's Gemini models and returns the generated text to you. When you prepare for an interview, the model additionally researches the hiring company using Google Search; only the company and role from the offer drive that search.

The career-coach chat runs on WidgetChat (api.widget-chat.com), our own chat service, which likewise passes your messages to Gemini to answer them.

We ask for your consent before the first time your text leaves the device, and you can withdraw it at any time — which disables the AI features. We do not use your CVs, job offers, or letters to train AI models, and we do not sell them.

4. How we use your data

  • Generate the documents you ask for, and keep them so you can revisit and edit them across your devices.
  • Track where each application stands, and remind you to follow up — that reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device, not a message from our servers.
  • Apply the free-tier limit and unlock Pro features once a subscription is active.
  • Prevent abuse of the free tier.
  • Fix crashes and improve the app.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your CVs, letters, preparation packs, and account data are kept while your account exists. Deleting your account (in the app: Me → Delete account) permanently removes them from our systems. See the Account Deletion page for the exact steps.

One exception, for honesty: when an account is deleted we keep a small anti-abuse record containing hashed signals only — a hash of the email address, the hashed device fingerprints, App Set ID / attestation tokens, and IP addresses tied to the registration. It contains none of your career content and cannot be used to reconstruct your CV or letters. It exists solely so a deleted account cannot be cycled to farm free generations.

6. Third-party services

  • Google Gemini — text generation and company research.
  • WidgetChat — the career-coach chat.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reporting.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management.
  • Apple / Google sign-in — optional authentication.
  • Render — hosting for our backend.

We don't share personally identifying information publicly or with other third parties, except when required by law.

7. Your rights

  • Access, export, or delete your data at any time — your documents can be exported as PDFs from the app.
  • Withdraw AI-processing consent (this disables the generation and coach features).
  • Complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Children

MO Letter is not intended for children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
