HairAI

HairAI is a cosmetic and self-improvement tool. This page spells out clearly what the app is and is not, so there's no confusion about how to read its output.

What HairAI is

• A hairstyle preview tool: you submit a selfie, the AI generates a photorealistic visualisation of how a different cut, colour, or texture would look on you.
• An AI hair-health rater: estimates cosmetic scores across visible dimensions (shine, thickness, density, scalp appearance, hairline strength) and flags visible concerns (dryness, frizz, dullness, breakage, split ends, thinning, oiliness).
• A self-improvement coach: based on the scan, suggests routines, ingredients, and product categories typically associated with cosmetic improvement.
• A progress tracker: rescan over time and see how your hair-health scores evolve.

What HairAI is NOT

Not a medical device

• It does not diagnose any medical, dermatological, or trichological condition.
• It does not detect alopecia, scarring, scalp infection, fungal conditions, hormonal imbalance, or any pathology.
• The scalp_health sub-score is a cosmetic rating of visible scalp appearance, not a clinical assessment.
• The hairline_strength sub-score is a visual rating of front-line density, not a diagnosis of androgenetic alopecia or any hair-loss condition.
• The thinning concern is a visual estimate of diffuse density loss, not a medical hair-loss diagnosis.

If you notice rapid hair loss, scalp pain, persistent itching, bald patches that grow, bleeding, or sudden changes in hair texture — see a dermatologist or trichologist. The app is not an alternative.

Not a substitute for professional advice

• We are not your dermatologist, trichologist, hair stylist, colourist, doctor, or pharmacist.
• Don't start, stop, or change any medication, supplement, scalp treatment, or chemical service (colour, bleach, perm, relaxer) based on what the app says.
• Talk to a qualified hair professional or healthcare provider before acting on anything that could affect your hair, scalp, skin, or wallet.

Not a salon or shopping guarantee

• Hairstyle previews are AI-generated visualisations — a real-life salon result depends on your stylist, your hair's actual texture, your current colour history, and many other factors the app cannot see.
• Product recommendations are general cosmetic suggestions based on the concern the AI flagged. They are not personalised prescriptions.
• Always patch-test new haircare products, especially if you have a sensitive scalp, allergies, or a history of reactions.
• The “Find online” button opens a public search — we do not curate, review, or endorse the retailer's listing.

Not a rating of other people

• The app is designed to score and preview your own submitted selfies.
• Don't scan someone else without their explicit consent.
• We don't run public leaderboards, “rate me” feeds, or comparison feeds. There is no social layer.

Not a guarantee

• Scores and previews are estimates produced by a probabilistic AI model.
• Two scans of the same person can differ because of lighting, angle, expression, pose, framing, hair styling on the day, or model variance.
• Recommendations are general. They may not be appropriate for your specific hair type, scalp condition, colour history, or sensitivities.
• Following the recommendations does not guarantee any specific result.

Mental health note

Self-improvement is healthy. Obsession is not. If the app is making you feel worse — if you find yourself scanning compulsively, comparing yourself anxiously, or spiralling about your appearance — stop using it and talk to someone you trust. Resources:

Acceptable use, briefly

• Don't use the app to harass, mock, or shame anyone (including yourself).
• Don't use the app to make decisions about other people (dating, hiring, etc.) — it is not designed for that and the scores are not reliable for that purpose.
• Don't use the app on minors without parental consent.
• Don't share scan results or AI-generated hairstyles in a way that misrepresents another person's appearance.

Limitation of liability

By using HairAI you accept that:

• We're not liable for actions you take based on the app's output.
• We're not liable for outcomes that don't match your expectations — at the salon, with a product, or otherwise.
• The cap and full limitations are set out in the Terms of Service.
