Cosmetic & Self-Improvement Disclaimer

Last updated: 29 July 2026

VShape's scores are for self-improvement and entertainment ONLY.

The app's scores, ratios, and tips are subjective AI aesthetic estimates. They are not a medical, clinical, body-composition (e.g. DEXA / BIA), or professional fitness assessment, not a diagnosis, and not a measure of your health, fitness, or worth.

This page spells out clearly what VShape is and is not, so there's no confusion about how to read its output.

What VShape is

  • A rater: from a single body photo, an AI returns an overall V-taper score and per-muscle-group sub-scores (e.g. shoulders, chest, lats, shoulder-to-waist ratio).
  • A goal estimate: it suggests a goal / target ratio to give you a sense of direction.
  • A coach: it offers personalized self-improvement tips (training and physique-oriented).
  • A tracker: it keeps a history so you can see how results change over time.

What VShape is NOT

Not a medical, clinical, or professional fitness assessment

  • It does not diagnose or assess any medical or health condition.
  • It does not measure body composition, body fat, or muscle mass the way a clinical tool (e.g. DEXA / BIA) does.
  • It does not provide medical, dietary, or professional fitness advice.
  • It is not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian, trainer, therapist, or other qualified professional.
  • Never make a health, diet, training, or mental-health decision solely because of what the app shows.

Not a measure of your health, fitness, or worth

  • Physique aesthetics are subjective and vary by person and goal; there is no single objective score.
  • A single body photo plus an AI model cannot capture a real person — their health, strength, movement, or personality.
  • Scores and ratios are not a judgement of your value as a person.
  • Results can vary with photo quality, pose, angle, lighting, and posture; two similar photos can score differently because of model variance.

Not a basis for drastic decisions

  • Don't make drastic decisions — such as extreme dieting, extreme training, or a procedure — based on a score or tip.
  • Tips are general suggestions, not a personalized professional plan.
  • Consult a qualified professional (a doctor, registered dietitian, or trainer) before making any major diet or training change based on anything the app suggests.

Not a tool for rating other people

  • Only scan your own body, or the body of a consenting adult.
  • Never scan a minor other than yourself, and never upload explicit or nude content.
  • Don't use the app to rate, rank, mock, or harass other people.
  • Scores and ratios are private to your account; we don't run public leaderboards.

Talk to a professional before major changes

Consult a qualified professional — a doctor, registered dietitian, trainer, or other specialist — before making any significant diet, training, or physique change based on the app. If a result concerns you, treat it as a prompt to seek qualified advice, not as an assessment or diagnosis.

A note on body image and self-esteem

Seeing your physique scored can be fun and motivating, but for some people the pressure to build muscle or hit a “perfect” ratio can fuel anxiety, muscle dysmorphia, compulsive checking, unhealthy eating or exercise, or unhealthy comparison. Please use VShape gently. V-taper scores are subjective AI estimates, not a measure of your health or a judgement of your worth. If a score is driving compulsive checking or unhealthy eating or exercise, or is causing you distress, step back and reach out for support.

Confidential help is available — talk to someone you trust, or contact a mental-health helpline or your local health service. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number.

Acceptable use, briefly

  • Don't use the app to harass, mock, or shame anyone.
  • Only scan your own body, or the body of a consenting adult; no minors other than yourself; no explicit or nude content.
  • Don't present a score or ratio as an objective fact about anyone.

Full acceptable-use rules live in the Terms of Service.

Limitation of liability

By using VShape you accept that:

  • We're not liable for decisions you make based on the app's scores, ratios, or tips.
  • We're not liable when a subjective estimate does not match your own or anyone else's view.
  • The cap and full limitations are set out in §10 of the Terms of Service.
